A character whom was inspired by two stories. It starts with the Japanese folk tale of the paper star and how it was originated with a little girl named Hoshi, which the translation of her name also means “star.” Hoshi was wondering the night sky and noticed that the stars were falling out of the sky and to revive it, she folded paper stars and it was revived. A personal story of mine where “Hoshi” was also inspired by not a character but someone I admire. He became the inspiration figure to earlier drawings and artworks. The combination of the folk story to the real life figure, it inspired me to create my own character of Hoshi, which can be seen as any gender or a little paper star. It inspired me to create my own story about Hoshi whom they can see in the future, hence "Dear Hoshi".
